Growing Into a Leader: My Personal Journey Through the Intwari Women Leadership Program
Intwari Women Leadership Program cohort two Alumna

I am Honorine Mushimiyima, an Alumna of the Intwari Women Leadership program, and I am deeply grateful to Women GAIN Rwanda for the remarkable opportunity to learn, grow, and reshape my future through their training program. The experience has been transformative both personally and professionally, and it has opened doors I never imagined I could step through.
Before joining the program, I questioned whether my voice mattered or whether I could make meaningful contributions to others. Today, I stand more prepared, more focused, and more motivated than ever. This program has strengthened my skills and expanded my perspective. It has shown me the kind of impact I am capable of making when I lead with courage and intention.
I now understand that change begins with small, consistent actions, and I am ready to be part of that change.
Advancing Through Skills and Guidance

Participating in the Intwari Women Leadership Program has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. Through this program, I have grown in ways I never expected and gained a more profound, clearer understanding of what it truly means to be a good and effective leader.
The lessons I received ranged from :
Communication,
Values-based leadership,
Teamwork,
Civic engagement,
Community development.
These lessons helped me build confidence and shape my future goals. They taught me that leadership is not about position, but about purpose, responsibility, and the ability to inspire positive change in the community.
Giving Back Through Service

One of the most meaningful outcomes of this journey is that I am now volunteering in the program, assisting with coordination. Being able to give back to the same community that empowered me is both humbling and fulfilling. I want to support other young women the way I was supported, and contribute to building a stronger, more confident generation of women leaders.
Moving Forward With Purpose

As I continue this leadership journey, I am committed to applying everything I have learned, whether in my community, my work, or my personal life. I carry forward not only the skills but also the belief that leadership is a continuous practice of growth, service, and intention.
I am grateful for the mentors, facilitators, and the entire Women GAIN Rwanda team for creating a space where young women like me can grow, discover themselves, and become leaders who uplift others.
Your Support Matters a Lot.
I remain deeply thankful to everyone who made this program possible. Your investment in young women like me is an investment in a stronger, more empowered future for Rwanda.
With gratitude and hope for the future, let’s join together in empowering the next generation of women leaders. Your Support today creates opportunities that last a lifetime.
